Everyone has a different idea of what makes a great vacation. Some people like rustic backcountry camping, while others would rather take a city vacation and come back to a 5-star hotel in the evenings. Why not combine the best of both worlds with a luxurious countryside resort that no one can say “no” to? The Dancing Bear Lodge in Townsend, Tennessee is just one such place. Read on to find out what keeps people coming back, year after year!
Could It Be the Amazing Accommodations?
The lodging at Dancing Bear is full service, and they’re not kidding. The décor and furnishings are upscale, yet still natural, with fine wood paneling and fabrics, and the rooms come with a Breakfast Box (including yogurt, granola, quiche pastry, and access to locally-roasted coffee), as well as other guest supplies you’d expect at any fancy hotel.
They have cabins throughout the property to accommodate different desires and budgets, and cabins come with varying amenities like WiFi, partial or full kitchens, King-size beds, Jacuzzis, flat-screen TVs, or access to trailheads, creeks, and a fitness center.
Is It the Dining Possibilities?
Chef Shelley Cooper is the star of Dancing Bear Lodge’s Appalachian Bistro, a garden-to-table restaurant that’s perfect as the highlight of either a date night or a regular stop during a week’s vacation. Dining at the Bistro can include cocktails and beers on the outdoor patio, after-dinner s’mores around the fire pit, and, of course, fabulous entrees, including bacon-wrapped scallops, whole-roasted trout, and cast-iron beef tenderloin.
The Lodge is also home to the Apple Valley Café, providing one-of-a-kind flavorful breakfast and lunch options, including omelets, breakfast burritos, serious sandwiches, two different toppings bars for burgers AND pancakes, and their signature fried apple pies. They sell 50,000 of those a year!
Is It the Memories from Weddings and Special Events?
Not sure how you’re going to organize everything for your big day? No problem! Dancing Bear Lodge can handle everything from a simple booking of their majestic pavilion and lodging for friends and family, to a rental of their entire resort and the coordination of wedding packages, including the cake, flowers, photographer, and even the officiant!
The nature around Dancing Bear also provides a great environment for generating new ideas, and, with that in mind, the Lodge offers a variety of meeting spaces to accommodate corporate events. Their Dancing Bear Event Center has cathedral ceilings, and when it’s time to eat, up to 150 people can be accommodated. Weather permitting, they can also provide space for outdoor celebrations of up to 250, but have plenty of options for much smaller groups, as well.
Dancing Bear also provides a free summer concert series to all comers in June and July. Bring your own chairs and blankets, and concessions will be available!
Sounds Like It’s the Total Package
