Picnicking
The Cades Cove picnic area is located near the campground. Grills and tables are provided, or you may pack a lunch and eat along a trail. Box lunches may be ordered at any of the restaurants in Townsend before you enter the National Park. While visiting Cades Cove, PLEASE DO NOT FEED WILD ANIMALS. Local Farmers Markets
If you plan to stay a few days in our area, you may want to stop by a farmers market to pick up some fresh, locally grown produce, honey, bread, and other goodies. Beginning in the spring and continuing through early fall, there are markets in Knoxville, Maryville, Townsend, and other nearby communities. Just call the Townsend Visitors Center at 865-448-6134.
Townsend Farmers Market: Thursdays from 4:00pm--6:30pm in the summer months. Next to Heartland Wedding Chapel and Miss Lily's Cafe in Townsend, TN. shop for fresh produce and other seasonal local goodies. Call 865-448-9895.
