Water Recreation

Cool down in the summer with the brisk feeling of the Little River. It runs straight from the mountains through Townsend. And take advantage of several swimming holes, especially a local favorite, The "Y". For something more challenging, canoe, kayak or float down the Little River on an innertube.

Remember that river rocks are very slippery, so watch your step. Be aware of storms with thunder and lightning and get out of the water.  Summer rainstorms can cause the streams to rise very rapidly, causing flash floods.  Move away from the river.
